Yoga! What are you saying?!

Personally I'm a fan of the physical aspect of Yoga. I am also a fan of having to focus on what I am doing at that moment in time, which Yoga practice absolutely requires.

Here is Jono performing the Warrior 2 pose:

Practising the Warrior 2 pose will promote the following:

  1. Stretches and strengthens the legs: Warrior 2 pose is an excellent way to stretch and strengthen the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings.

  2. Helps improve balance and stability: Warrior 2 requires balance and stability, which can help improve overall balance and coordination over time.

  3. Opens up the hips: The wide stance in Warrior 2 can help open up the hips and improve flexibility in this area.

  4. Strengthens the core: Holding Warrior 2 requires the engagement of the core muscles, which can help strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles.

  5. Improves breathing: Practicing Warrior 2 pose provides an opportunity to focus on the breath and inhale deeply, which can help increase oxygen flow and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

  6. Can help build mental focus and endurance: Holding the warrior 2 pose for longer durations requires mental focus and endurance, which can help build mental resilience and focus over time.

Here are some more benefits of Yoga:

  1. Improves flexibility: Practicing yoga poses regularly can help improve flexibility and range of motion in the body, particularly in the hips, hamstrings, and spine.

  2. Increases strength: Yoga poses require you to support your own body weight, which can help increase strength and muscle tone.

  3. Reduces stress and anxiety: Yoga emphasises deep breathing and mindfulness, which can help calm the mind and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

  4. Improves balance and coordination: Many yoga poses require balance and coordination, which can help improve these skills over time.

  5. Boosts immune function: Yoga has been shown to increase the production of certain types of immune system cells, which can help strengthen overall immune function.

  6. Promotes better sleep: Practicing yoga regularly can also help improve sleep quality and duration, which can in turn help improve overall health and well-being.

Overall, yoga offers a wide range of physical and mental health benefits that can support overall health and wellness.
